Principle of peanut sheller

In peanut oil extraction process, the purpose of peanut shelling is to improve the yield efficiency and the quality of crude peanut oil and cake, good for the subsequent process such as flaking and comprehensive utilization of peel and shell. Peanut sheller is often used for the shelling of peanut. It is composed of the feeding hopper, frame, fan, rotor, motor, screen, vibration sieve, belt pulley, transmission belt and other components. In the operation of peanut sheller, peanuts are fed into the hopper of peanut sheller uniformly and continuously. Then, they would be crushed under repeated strike, friction and collision of the rotor. After that peanut kernels and broken peanut shells would be filtered and separated through the screen under the rotating air pressure of the rotor. Then, peanut shells would be blown out of the peanut sheller by the fan, while peanut kernels would pass through the vibration screen.

Here is the principle of the widely used impact shelling method. Materials in high speed movement would be blocked suddenly and the large impact would make the shell broken and achieve the purpose of shelling. The typical equipment is the centrifugal sheller composed of high speed rotary material discard tray and rough wall fixed around it. The discard tray would make peanut pods produce a large centrifugal force to impact the wall. As long as the impact force is large enough, pod shell would deform and crack. When pods leaves the wall, the shell has different move speed as a result of the elastic deformation. The elastic force of pods is small and the movement speed is lower than shells that prevents the shell from moving outward quickly and make it cracks so as to realize the shelling of grain. Impact shelling method is suitable for pods with small binding force and large clearance between the kernel and shell and the shell is brittle. The influencing factors on the quality of the centrifugal shelling machine are the moisture content of grain, rotate speed and structure characteristics of discard tray, etc.
